The sale of improved stoves in the province of Bandiagara has exceeded all expectations. Although our project involved the sale of 1,000 units in the city of Bandiagara and surrounding area, until the month of June 4615 cookers have been sold!

The monitoring of the buyers do after a time of acquisition indicates that the population of the Dogon Country has understood the importance of improved stoves, which not only provide faster cooking, but also can save money when buying firewood and help in the fight against desertification. We can say that the objectives of this project have been more than achieved.

The main difficulty encountered by the project has been the rising price of metal barrel (the raw material for the construction of the cookers comes from the reuse of these barrels), which price increased by 30% within months.
